Welcome to Blue Horse Riding

Here at Blue Horse Riding we strive to develop not only wonderful riders, but all-around horsemen with confidence, compassion, and character that spill over into all of life - both in and out of the arena.

MEET the owner

Hello! My name is Hayden Buntin. I am the owner and an instructor of Blue Horse Riding. I fell in love with horses at a young age and discovered my passion for teaching throughout my years of education. I received a B.S. in Animal Science with a concentration in Horse Science and a M.Ed. in Administration and Supervision with a concentration in Agriculture Education Leadership from Middle Tennessee State University.

It has been the neatest experience to watch this lesson program grow from the one-woman show it was to an incredible team of instructors in a very short time. I could not serve our barn family without these talented ladies by my side!

I love the variety of teaching young kids, teenagers, and adults of different skill levels. So, whether you or your child are riding for the first time, brushing up on some old skills, or are ready to advance to the basics of jumping and horsemanship, I would love to talk with you about lessons with Blue Horse Riding.

Meet carolyn

Hey everyone! I am so excited to be teaching at Blue Horse Riding. I am currently a student at MTSU in the Horse Science Program and have been riding for 13 years and showing for 11 years. I have loved horses since I knew the word horse. As I have furthered my career, that passion has only grown. I have shown a lot in both hunter jumper and western/stock horse, but my forte is horsemanship, ground work, and liberty work with my own horses. I enjoy just existing with them. My biggest joy in teaching has to be watching students grow in confidence and love for the animal. It always inspires me to do better when my students show passion and respect for the animals they ride!

Meet Jordan

I had a later start in the horse industry, but I dove in head first. I have always had a love for horses but was unable to ride until I was about 13. Since then I have competed in IEA, AQHA, PtHA, 4H, VOLRHA, IHSA, and ASHA events. I have competed in Hunt Seat, Western, and Ranch disciplines, but I have a huge heart for reining and cow horse.

I graduated from MTSU in 2022 with a major in Horse Science. I found a passion for teaching while helping with a beginner horse camp at my lesson barn in high school. I helped teach weekly lessons there until I graduated college. I also took several courses throughout my college career that helped fuel my passion for teaching. I love being able to share my love of the horse with others and watch the personal growth in my riders. I enjoy helping my riders learn how to become not just better riders but better horse people with a focus on learning from the ground up. I want to make an impact on my riders and have them find the confidence to continue to be present in the horse industry.

meet kaitlyn

Kaitlyn started riding around 7 years old and has been hooked since. She grew up in Chattanooga where she rode as a hunter rider. She bought her first horse, Gemini, when in 8th grade. They competed in the hunter ring for a few years before her horse needed to retire due to injury. For the next year she leased an appendix quarter horse where she was able to move up in the hunter classes. When she began college in 2012 she found a horse that needed a home for free. She took the leap of faith and brought Kiss home. He was an off the track thoroughbred that hadn’t been ridden in about 5 years. She restarted him and had him for 5 years where they moved up in the levels in the jumper ring. While this was happening, Kaitlyn started working in the horse industry in 2013. She began as a working student then moved up to assistant trainer, riding instructor and barn manager. She has been teaching consistently since 2013 and has found a true passion for teaching kids how to ride and help kids express themselves through horseback riding. In 2017 Kaitlyn went to MTSU where she minored in horse science. Going to MTSU taught her a lot about horse behavior and how to be a better riding instructor. After graduating in 2019, she was able to bring home an MTSU horse, Lancaster, for two summers to help keep him in shape and become more confident over fences. Today, Kaitlyn works at Blue Horse Riding where she focuses on hunter/jumpers and dressage riding!

horseback riding at Crossing Creeks Farm

CROSSING CREEKS FARM

My relationship with this sweet family began with homeschool tutoring for the boys at Crossing Creeks Farm and, of course, riding lessons after school with their personal horses. However, it did not take long for word to get around to their friends, customers, and guests. Soon I was fully booked for lessons at CCF as well as the other barn I was teaching out of at the time. They have blessed me so much with the opportunity to transition Blue Horse Riding to their farm, utilize their horses in my lesson herd, and teach out of their beautiful new facilities.
